Written by USC Professor of Asian American Literature Viet Nguyen, "In The Dark", is a story told with sharp political bite and taught suspense. In a tense psychological thriller, it brings together the Vietnamese American experience and comtemporary U.S. politics. Everything gets screwed with here: gender, moral certainty, and, especially, men. The story follows two lesbians, one of whom is Vietnamese. A visit from from her former lover--and the revelation of a crime-- ruptures her peaceful world. Her life spirals into crime and madness, a dark secret erupts, and by the end, there's a dead body.
