What is SASC SI?
The SASC Summer Institute is a one-week event that provides an opportunity for Bay Area and Central Valley Southeast Asian high school students to learn more about the college experience with special emphasis on the Southeast Asian perspective. Throughout the week the students will participate in college workshops, lectures, and other peer-bonding activities, while staying in one of the U.C. Berkeley dormitories. These workshops and activities that they will participate in are aim to show them the significance of the Southeast Asian history and experiences, and how it affects the present.

Why do we have a community banquet?
One of the SASC Summer Institute’s objectives is to build a network between high school students, college students, parents, and community members to promote greater access to college education for Southeast Asian communities. And having a community banquet is a great way to begin networking with people from different communities.
