What is the issue?
President Bush proposes to eliminate the Upward Bound, Talent Search and Gear Up programs from this year’s federal budget. These programs have brought effective educational services to hundreds of thousands of low-income students for over forty years. We seek your support in opposing Bush’s plan to destroy these great programs.
What is Upward Bound and Talent Search?
Upward Bound and Talent Search are federally funded educational programs for high school and middle school students from disadvantaged and/or low-income families.

The programs provide free services and activities on a year round basis that motivates and prepares students for success in education beyond high school.
